The Master Plan
Dotted with more than 30,000 mature oak trees, Placer Holdings, Inc., the developer of Twelve Bridges, masterfully weaves a homeowner's needs with South Placer County's natural beauty. With the acclaimed 18-hole Catta Verdera Country Club as the center-piece, approximately half of the community's 3,000 acres will remain open and natural space for all to enjoy. A combination of single and multi-family homes balance retail and neighborhood commercial uses. Community services such as an existing fire station, a medical plaza currently under construction, four planned schools, community college, a library and more bring into focus the community's master plan.
Our Community History
Twelve Bridges, located in South Placer County in the city of Lincoln, was once home to the Valley Nisenan or southern Maidu Indians. In 1857, George R. Whitney purchased 160 acres of public domain land for what would become the Spring Valley Ranch. The Civil War brought high demand for western wool, which provided an economic incentive for the Whitneys to expand their ranch. A decade later, their holdings had grown to 13,000 acres.
By 1872, George Whitney's son, Joel Parker Whitney (known as J. Parker Whitney to locals), owned the then massive 22,000-acre Spring Valley Ranch and began building an empire and legacy in Lincoln
